Hello to all of my new friends! I have taken a break from scrappy quilting for the month of January, and I am spending all of my time working with new fabric that I purchased back in November at the PA shop hop. Last week, I finished my Paris Pinwheel quilt (which took FOREVER and still needs its borders).
Yesterday, I whacked together a "Frozen" quilt with novelty prints that I collected at the Country Quilterie in Effort, PA. I had some 5 1/2 inch squares left over from my mother-in-law's "Frozen" quilts, and so I fussy cut my fabric to match her scraps when I was at my last "Sit'n'Sew." How much time are you willing to invest in a quilt made from novelty fabrics?
This morning, I loaded my "Frozen" quilt on my 1993 Gammill long arm. (I'll start machine quilting it tomorrow when my kid goes to kindergarten.) I spent the rest of the day assembling a blue-work top for my mom. My mom cut the white blocks and traced the snowmen from a pattern. (I think.) She made herself a little embroidery kit and carried the blocks around in her purse until she had finished all of the blue-work. Then...I guess she got bored, so she asked me to assemble the top. When the "Frozen" quilt comes off the Gammill, I'll load the snowmen and custom quilt the sashing. What are you working on this week, my friends? Happy sewing!
