I have been putting off these bindings for at least a week and a half, and inviting my girlfriend over wasn't forcing me to finish. So, on to the next gimmick to keep myself motivated! I put on a DVD of the first season of "This is Tom Jones". Normally, I don't recommend watching tv while you quilt because it is so easy to get sucked into the story line of whatever you are watching....and then you wind up leaning over the sewing machine to see the tv. Before you know it, you've stopped sewing completely, your neck gets stiff and your butt falls asleep. If however, you can find the perfect balance of entertainment and disinterest, you can really amp up your sewing productivity!
Today, friends, I am rattling off 3 bindings. (Hopefully). The quilt you can see in the photo above is a postage stamp 9 patch .ake COMPLETELY from scraps....including the backing and the batting. New trick for convincing an enthusiastic helper that you are better off on your own: a new bed with a heating pad! End of the day summary....I did 2 bindings (I need to buy fabric for the third), and I did half of the piecing on the Harry Potter novelty brickwork quilt I am working on. To be continued!

Hey! Thank you so much for commenting! You're my first visitor, and your comment has made my day!!!! (I'm not going to lie, I may have needed to do a celebratory dance when I saw it....shhh.....) I'm not quite sure how this goes, but I just uploaded a video to YouTube introducing my sewing room. It's my first video, and its meant to go with this blog. Where do you like to sew?

Hey Jan--just to let you know that was your Mom!!! She was at my house & Sharon told us about your blog. She did enjoy seeing your blog, but I guess her short note didn't give you a hint. Good luck with the long arming--I hope you enjoy your machine as much as I do mine.
